A personal message from Ghita's owner...
As soon as you get on Ghita you just smile. she is just that kind of horse. I've never been afraid of her, I know that she is so intelligent, athletic and agile that no matter what we encounter at whatever speed we're going I know she'll take care of herself and me. I've taken her to event clinics and that girl will jump anything you point her towards. Even as I approach the jump, be it a water obstacle or ditch and I start to think "oh boy, this looks scary" she just does it and she loves every minute of it. I went with my husband to a cow sorting clinic. Ghita has never seen cows. They let that herd of cattle into the large arena and they started charging towards us. Ghia looked at that herd of cattle running at her, pinned her ears, got her head down low and said "bring it on". She moved that herd of cattle like she had done it for years. I've ridden her out in the wilderness - no trails, just me and my horse. We've encountered elk, precipices, stairs built in to the side of steep slopes, rivers and bridges that are 200ft. high off the ground. With her ears pricked forward and a spring to her step she has overcome all of these obstacles Last fall, I took her up on some very technical trails in the Cascades. It was wet that day and we were crossing a bridge. I knew I should have probably gotten off to walk her, but I stayed on anyway. As we were crossing the bridge, she slipped on the slick surface and went down. I didn't even get a chance to get off her to help her get up - she just put her legs back under herself and lifted herself and me up from the ground. She wasn't even perturbed or upset about it! She just kept on that bridge like nothing ever happened - I was the one shaken up! I've had many a picnic with my trail friends with Ghia tied to a tree, she's gotten herself tangled up in the long lead I give her to graze and she has been trained that no matter how tangled she is, if she just stays still someone will take all the pressure away. I've even taught her how to hobble. I can't tell you enough how amazing this horse is. She will take you on so many different adventures - the dressage ring, cross country course, trails, cattle drive... you'll be able to write a book about it all!
